BMW climate control modules fail by losing power and resetting. This can happen intermittently, eventually leading to a constant power off/on cycle. Can result in not being able to control the unit, and/or having a dim or blank screen.

Another problem is buttons not functioning and control lights not coming on.
Models with the problem include 7 Series E38 1995 - 2001 740i, 740il, 740Li, 750Li.
